Bárbara Inês Ribeiro Simões Daibert,

is a Brazilian writer and a professor of Comparative Literature and Racial Critical Theory based in Toronto, Canada. She writes and speaks about literature, religion and history, and her research primarily focuses on decoloniality, racial theory and postcolonial studies. She has extensive experience on Lusophone African and African Diaspora in the Americas, having published several papers and one book on the topic. She has co edited two books about African Diaspora and is now focusing her efforts on Migration, Environment, Transnational Ethnicities in Canadian Studies and Latino-Canadian studies. Dr Simoes is an Associate Researcher at the Human Rights and Business Centre (Homa), coordinating research on violation of Human Rights by business and Migration, and the impact of those violations on Indigenous peoples in Latin America.
